In the memory of mankind is the Great Silk Road, an artery giving life to East and West. The Great Silk Road has reunited Kyrgyzstan, the heart of Central Asia, and Japan. The scientific delegation from the country of ascending sun composed of the professors, Sugimuro Too, Ruseki Morimoto and Itiri Iino came to Kyrgyzstan to study Buddhist monuments.

A horse is human’s wings

Only few people know that the popular game of the world sports called ‘horseball’ is very similar to the Kyrgyz national game ‘kok boru’ (goat tearing), which has been existing for many centuries.  
Kok boru is a team game, where only the most deft and strong jigit (young man) wins, which represents one of many various national games. Special attention should be paid for each of these competitions, which were necessary for the training of physical and moral abilities of real nomads as well as the traditions, dating back deep into the history. Today, all this diversity represents cultural heritage of the Kyrgyz people like toshok - a felt blanket, weaved out of shreds. We offer you a heading, devoted to the most interesting traditions of the nomadic people, arts and peculiarities of the nomadic way of life.
In this issue we will tell you about a unique breed of the Kyrgyz horses, without which the life of nomads throughout the history would be impossible.

В Каракольском центре защиты диких животных появились питомцы!

dsc05647Алматинский городской зоопарк в начале 2009 года подарил единственному зоопарку Кыргызстана новых питомцев – лошадей Пржевальского.
Великий путешественник и исследователь Центральной Азии генерал-майор царской армии Николай Михайлович  Пржевальский в 1879 году впервые открыл  уникальную породу лошади. Было бы логично предположить, что именно это животное  открытое 130 лет назад должно было давно стать главной достопримечательностью города Каракол Иссык-Кульской области. Ведь в Караколе жил и работал ученый, – городе который стал центром многих российский научных экспедиций конца 19 века.
